Air release valves
Network protection
Air release valves, automatic vents
Water supply lines are rarely flat. Upward or downward slopes cause variations in pressure and speed throughout the network. These turbulences will at times charge the water with gas and at other times will release this gas from the liquid. This accumulation of gas in the high points of the water supply will reduce or even stop the circulation of water. The suction cups therefore allow these gases to be evacuated automatically.
The suction cups are available in several models: single acting, double acting and triple acting. The simple effects are suction cups equipped with a float which will be actuated by the simple presence of air. The purge opens wide almost instantly and closes with almost the same speed, which can then cause water hammer. The double and triple acting suction cups allow progressive opening and closing to avoid water hammer.

Working principle
When filling the pipe, the air is evacuated, the float and the cylinder remain in the low position.
The water gradually fills the suction cup. Water resistance is from 0.1 bar. The remaining air is exhausted from the top orifice.
The valve closes when water completely fills the suction cup.
During operation, if air appears in the suction cup, it is exhausted through the small hole.
When emptying the pipe, the float drops down and allows air to enter the pipe.
Sizing of air release valves
When selecting the suction cups, it is essential to carry out a good sizing taking into account the air inlet and air expulsion flow . Curves are provided in our technical sheets taking into account: the type of suction cup, the size and as well as the operating pressures.
Installation
An isolation valve should always be installed under each suction cup so that maintenance can be carried out easily. Our single port suction cups can be delivered bare, fitted with a flange or, complete with a flange and a shut-off valve. For double and triple acting suction cups as well as the wastewater model, cast iron gate valves are usually used. For very large flow rates, it is also possible to install 2 suction cups on the same point.

Irrigation series
The suction cups of the irrigation series are built on the same principle and are a very economical solution . They must be installed on the same principle as the cast iron suction cups using support clamps and isolation valves.
Double and single action models available from 3/4 "to 2" PN16 .
